- Italy requires twelve years of schooling, so an eleven-year certificate needs a bridging year or one year of university at home before it is accepted. Admission runs through Universitaly and the Italian consulate on a fixed annual calendar — we work backwards from the pre-enrolment date, not from the university's own deadline.

- Set per programme, and Bologna prints no test score even at programme level — International Studies asks for a B2 certificate against the language centre's accepted list, while Economics and Finance selects on the SAT and states no English requirement at all. A certificate must be B2 or above and issued from February 2023 onward. Duolingo is not accepted

Worth knowing before you pay
Italian public universities set tuition by FAMILY INCOME, assessed through a document called the ISEE, and award need-based grants on the same basis. A family that files it correctly can pay very little; a family that does not file it is charged the top band. We prepare the ISEE with you — it is the single most valuable thing we do on an Italian application, and it has a deadline of its own.
